All are welcome to our next set of Yoga at the Church sessions led by Heather Derby. We will meet in the Lounge on Saturday mornings from April 4 to May 9, 2026. Pay what you can and bring a mat, or use one available at the church. Please use the side ramp entrance to be buzzed into the building.
There will be no meeting on April 18 due to the Pet Ministry's Pet Remembrance Service. Grief occurs after the loss of a significant relationship. The loss of a pet can be a devastating and life altering experience. The grief after a pet’s death can be as severe as the loss of a human loved one, and it can be as prolonged and complicated. Each person copes differently, and the timeline for bereavement is variable.
Pets are our companion animals. They become a special part of our families. They bring joy into our lives and teach us lessons of patience, tolerance, and unconditional love. No matter when we lose our animal companion, we will always remember how unique and special our relationship was. The support of others who have experienced this loss is helpful to all of us. Our children are particularly affected by pet loss. They cope best when we acknowledge their feelings, tell the story of their pet, and participate in a memorial activity. Join the Pet Ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood for a faith-based celebration of the life of your pet on Saturday April 18 at 11 a.m. Please register and send a photo of your pet(s) by April 4 to receive a memorial token. A reception with food and fellowship will follow. Grief care will be available. All are welcome to experience "Re-Wilding our Faith" this Holy Week at FPCE. Join us for the following:
Palm Sunday - March 29 at 11:00am Giving Up 'Empire' Will you choose the war horse of empire or the donkey of peace? We’re following the "Wild King" into a revolution of vulnerable love that deconstructs every wall. Maundy Thursday - April 2 at 7:00pm Wild Purification From "payment" to "purification." Come experience the "Wild Wash" of a God who kneels in the mess and absorbs the world's toxins so we don't have to carry them alone. Good Friday - April 3 at 11:00am Grief Ritual This is a contemplative time to sit with one another in our grief. The service is based on a practice from the Center for Action and Contemplation. Resurrection of the Lord/Easter - April 5 at 11:00am The Wild Un-Taming The tomb is empty and the "Re-Wilding" has begun! God refuses to be evicted from the earth, reclaiming the graveyard as a garden where new life is currently breaking through the pavement. |
