Good morning everyone,
The day dawned brightly across our backyard early this morning. Acclaiming that this day promises to be a beautiful blessing for me. That does not mean it will be easy. That is part of the blessing of the day…our difficulties, challenges, even our weakness is a door to the power, grace, and love of God. I pray you find that blessing today. I look forward to seeing you Sunday: 9:45 adult Sunday School, 11:00 a.m. worship. Given the headlines, let us offer this prayer: “God of ages, in your sight nations rise and fall, and pass through times of peril. Now, when our land is troubled, be near to judge and save. Give us your light and your truth to guide us; through Jesus Christ, who is the Lord of this world, and our Savior. Amen. See you Sunday, Pastor Michael Happy Friday FPCE Family,
We think of our friends and family in the south hills areas dealing with the massive water main break this morning. If you've seen any of the photos or videos, you can see how water was hemorrhaging from beneath the earth and flowing like a river down hills and onto roads. We pray for swift response and as little damage as possible so that those affected can return to their every day lives. This Sunday, we will hear the story of a woman whose long suffering with a hemorrhage of her own was healed because of her faith. Join us at 11:00am in the sanctuary to hear the word proclaimed in word and song as we welcome the Rev. Kellie Weekley-Mills along with liturgist Lisa Segedy, and our always faithful Sanctuary Choir. We hope you can join us for what is sure to be a meaningful service. See you in church! Peace, Shaun Good morning,
It could be called the “Chapter of Lost Things.” The Gospel of Luke chapter 15. Lost animals, lost money, lost people. But does God ever really lose what God has created? Is it even possible to stay lost forever? Let’s think about that this Sunday morning during our Emerging Worship celebration. Don’t miss out! See you at 11:00 a.m. in the wood-carved beauty of our sanctuary. (Even better, you will have an opportunity to contribute to the search and restore mission taking place in the Bahamas.) See you soon! “I got lost, but look what I found.” – Irving Berlin Pastor Michael PS – There will be NO ADULT CLASS this week. Good morning,
“He leads me beside still waters….” But sometimes the waters are not still. Our brothers and sisters in the Bahamas and along our east coast watched as the waters roared and foamed and devastated their lives. We know what to do next – stand with the stricken, comfort the afflicted. There are two ways you can help:
WORSHIP WITH US IN THE SANCTUARY AT 11:00 AM this Sunday. Choir practice at 9:30. Adult Sunday School at 9:45. The way is long; let us go together. The way is difficult; let us help each other. The way is joyful; let us share it. The way is Christ’s, for Christ is the Way; let us follow. The way is open before us; let us go: with the love of God, the grace of Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
See you soon – Pastor Michael |
