Call for 2014 Reports
On Sunday, January 25 immediately following worship, the Annual Meeting of the Congregation will be held to receive the 2015 budget and annual reports of the various ministries of the church.
If you are the staff member, chair or secretary of a ministry team or organization within the church, please have your narrative report into the church office by January 20. It can be given in hard copy or e-mailed as an attachment to Judy Mysels at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Boxed 2015 envelopes are available at the side entrance and front entrance of church. They can also be mailed to you if interested.
Planning for 2015
The next planning meeting for the remainder of the 2014-15 church year will take place after worship January 11 in the Gathering Place. All elders, deacons, staff, and other organization leaders should plan to attend as we finalize plans for Jan-August.
Join us at 11:00AM on Sunday, December 14 for a meaningful service celebrating the quiet joy and anticipation of the Christ Child with prayer, meditation, songs of Taize, lighting of candles, and quiet remembering of loved ones with a Blue Christmas observance.
The Pastor Nominating Committee is pleased to recommend the call of Rev. Michael P. Rucker to the position of Pastor to the First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood. Michael is currently the Interim Pastor of FPCE and will make an excellent full-time called Pastor to our FPCE family.
After a complete and diligent search of 88 Pastor Information Forms (PIFs) and numerous interviews (not to mention a lot of discussion and prayer), we believe that we are being led by the Holy Spirit to call Rev. Michael to full time service here at our church.
We have asked Session to add the call to the docket for the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, December 7th, and are notifying our members accordingly. During this meeting, we will have the first reading of next years budget and also the following:
-Receive and Vote on Rev. Michael Rucker's call
-Receive and Vote on the terms of the call
-Vote to dissolve the PNC
We plan to have an official welcome for Rev. Michael in the near future when we have his Installation Service at FPCE.
Pastor Nominating Committee thanks all of you for your support, prayers and suggestions, in this vital decision for the life of our congregation.
